It is with great sadness that we have to report that James Clearwater, the big voice from Nova Cafe, passed away October 2021.

His 4 octave voice added such dimension to the project and it was always felt we could demand anything from it.

He was a true gentle giant, with a big heart and a penchant for one-liners that cracked us all up, and usually ended the productivity of the work session for the day .

But he did so much more than the Nova Cafe sessions, his 2009 Christmas CD 'Here At Christmas Time' (available on Apple Music etc), is popular, and he was very active with many progressive rock projects on the Seattle music scene. In addition, he was well-connected to touring theatrical musical productions and starred in Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, West Side Story and many many other productions.
